Four Years of Going Through the Wardrobe!

Today my little blog turns four –

1,096 days Through the Wardrobe door!

I’ve read, reviewed and spread bookish good cheer,

So it’s time to celebrate another literary year!

Blogging is a tricky little beast but one I wouldn’t be without. Yes, book blogs may be ten a penny but, to me, they are so incredibly important. I discover books, people and ideas through the blogging world that I wouldn’t have come across on my own. I see more of the literary market, themes and blockbusters through blogs and social media than what my tastes or day-to-day working life would allow.

Through the Wardrobe is four years old today – four YEARS old!! Though it may be just a quiet toddler within the blogging community, I never believed my little space in the virtual universe would 1) ever be sustained for so long and 2) still be something I am so passionate about. I absolutely love being able to share bookish recommendations, thoughts and musings with you and I shall endeavour to continue and grow Through the Wardrobe over the next twelve months. Thank you so SO much for visiting, following and supporting this blog and me this past year. TTWers – you will never know how much that means!

Now time for some cake!

Three Years Of Going Through The Wardrobe

TTW turns 3

Three mini cakes for three big years! (The cakes lasted for all of two seconds though…)

So my little corner of the Internet has gotten through the terrible twos and is entering it’s third year – how did that happen?? This past year has really felt like a make or break year and there were times when I really found it hard to find the words to blog.

Reading has always been a huge part of my life but there were times this year when I struggled to want to write about books. I was having some writer’s block at work and then reviewing and chatting on TTW was the last thing on my mind when I was getting home at night – it looked a bit bleak there for a while…

But Fridays have saved me! I follow a lot of non-book related bloggers and I really enjoy reading their random chatty posts so thought about trying to incorporate something of that to TTW. I quickly found that allowing myself some breathing space and not writing about books actually made me want to write about books again – I guess it’s true what they say, writing about something is better than not writing at all!

So here’s to another year or reading, reviewing and putting my general musings out into the ether. I can’t believe TTW has made it to three! Time for cake, cake and more cake methinks…

Two Years Of Going Through The Wardrobe!

I can’t believe today marks two years of going Through the Wardrobe – where has the time gone?! Blogging has become a permanent fixture in my life now and I couldn’t be happier, especially as I’ve had such an amazing year!

Towards the end of 2014 I decided to add a little bit more structure to my reading for the upcoming year and take on a reading challenge! I absolutely love discovering new authors and found that a lot of books on my bookshelves were debut novels and so, having accidentally coming across an article on Shortlist’s website, the 2015 Debut Novels Challenge was born! It mixes classic with contemporary novels and, with my follow up posts, I get to discover more about the wonderful authors who started their careers with the book I’d just read. 7 down, 23 to go!

Best-Blog-DesignA couple of months ago I got the shock of my blogging life when it was announced that TTW had won a design award! I love writing about the books I read and planning articles about the world of literature that even having people read my ramblings is enough for me. To be awarded for it, is utterly overwhelming – I still can’t believe it!

So two years on I’m reading more, getting more and more involved with the blogging community and just having literary ball! My bookcase has never been more of a health and safety risk(!) but I have never been happier – so thank you so much TTW readers for everything you have given me for the past two years. I promise to keep writing if you keep reading 😉

Here’s to another year!
