Now I have explored the debut novel of Khaled Hosseini, it’s time to go a little further through the wardrobe to unearth what he did post-The Kite Runner

Hosseini, K

Author: Khaled Hosseini (1965–)

Début novel: The Kite Runner (2003)

Age of author when debut published: 38

140 character review: Breathtakingly and heart-wrenchingly beautiful, this tale of friends from different worlds but sharing the same space is nigh on perfect. (Original review posted here – 5 stars)

Favourite quote from debut: “For you, a thousand times over.”

Reception of debut: The momentum behind Hosseini’s debut novel only really began once the paperback edition had been released in 2004 and book clubs started to pick it up and pay attention. Its popularity soon snowballed and Hosseini’s debut began to receive worldwide recognition, spending 101 weeks at the top of the New York Times bestseller list, and was nominated for multiple awards. The Kite Runner has since been made into a successful film and the text has also been turned into a graphic novel of the same name.

Other notable works:

A Thousand Splendid Suns (2007)

And the Mountains Echoed (2013)
